For The Love Of God !!!
How simple and easy it is to believe in the doctrine of eternal punishment; for it requires little imagination or investigation and leaves one free to pursue the important things in life!
Though; if we would truly believed in this doctrine we could not have rest day or night; by entering into the rest of His finished work; but would be driven by fear to proclaim with fear this bad news schizophrenic gospel; of a God of love on the one hand; who on the other hand is a God of vengeance and cruel justice, on the other.
Who testifies, that His desire is that all men be saved, but Who lacks the ability, the will, or the inclination to save all; yet is able to provide an elaborate torture chamber over which presumably He presides for eternity to punish evil doers just for the sake of punishment, with no end or purpose in sight.
Of whom; would they truly be, out of sight, out of mind, in God's economy?
And do we really believe that the party and banquet in heaven would truly be heartfelt, knowing that our nearest and dearest have not only no hope; but that they are tormented and tortured day and night forever?
Or do we believe that God will give us all a spiritual lobotomy; so that carefree we may skip about in heaven, oblivious to the heard screams and seen sights of horror unmoved, impassioned, unlike even poor Dives, who still found compassion in his heart in Hades for his brothers; that they would not share in his misfortune.
Could we or God live victorious, uncaring, in a paradise lost forever?
